Sussex Selection

I am.

Thinking of setting up a radio playlist sorely for Sussex based bands and singers, where they will have a chance to showcase their songs to the general public. The pkaylist is still at planning stage, but will poss run on a early Sunday evening slot for around an hour each time. A playlist for the current programme will appear on the website.

Have tried to post this via the special Sussex page but it wont go through for some reason.

Catfish is a great Sussex based blues band who have had an amazing year so far. To summarise, their debut album So Many Roads went to no. 1 in the IBBA blues airplay charts on its release in Jan 2015 and was an album of the month in Feb 2015. Here are a couple of tracks, one fast and one slow, to show you the range of what they do.

They have supported Larry Miller, Micky Moody and Mud Morganfield and have been confirmed as the support for Oli Brown in Southsea and for Babajack in Southampton in July– all serious names in the British Blues world. They also have bookings for several festivals including some major blues festivals, and a slot at the 100 Club in August.

Their secret weapon is phenomenal 20 year old guitarist Matt Long who has already played on stage with Buddy Whittington and Larry Miller, and has supported British Blues Award winners Chantel McGregor and Aynsley Lister.

Here is a Dropbox link to their whole album if you want to have a listen to the rest of it. I can recommend the title track, Five Long Years and their swampy version of Catfish Blues, but Black Cat Bone and Born under a bad sign are also great!" rel=”nofollow”>

New album being recorded over the summer so more to come soon.

Let me know if you would like to play any of the tracks and if your show has a podcast I will put a link to your show on our FB page. Thank you!
